2. New Workflow – Kate reviewed with the group
See http://scfrevision.pbworks.com/w/page/74294168/Instructions%20for%20Editing%20and%20Formatting%20New%20Citation%20Forms
Ellen Cordes provided several new citation proposals for us to practice the new work flow with. Val added three.
Jessie will assign these to SCF members
3. Ongoing Tasks
Liaison to Web Team = Val will take this assignment
Jessie doesn’t have permissions right now.
4. Linked Data Group – Valerie
Valerie sent an email earlier this week with questions for SCF from the Linked Data group. She’ll compile the answers and report back to them.
SCF is waiting on the Linked Data Group report before making decisions about a new host or changing formats
Our URLs aren’t really permalinks & they probably should be going forward.
We want to find a solution to finding a more stable environment/permalinks for the citations
5. Questions/issues
i. 2 Dutch citations
Ask proposers to create an English language record? We will create SCF records from non-English-language OCLC records, even if it results in a brief SCF record
Val = will email these proposers to see if they can send a scan of title pages
Val = will create provisional Eng language bibs in OCLC & then complete the proposals
ii. Jane will see what can be done VD16/VD17
iii. Adding abbreviations & acronyms to the citation forms
Add as a note, unless there is a strong case that the abbreviation is used as title, then add to title.
Use RISM as an example for strong cases.
iv. Changes in author name and/or title of multivolume works over the course of publication history
Add a note about the name change, but stick with the original citation with the original author name form
Do the same with a changed title
Add an explanation of this practice decision to our Principles = Kate will draft something
