Reason Proposer informed? Notes
Dr. Williams’s Library. Bibliothecae quam vir doctus, & admodum reverendus, Daniel Williams, S.T.P. bono publico legavit, catalogus. out of scope
yes (JS - 3 May 2021)

Dictionaries of the printers and booksellers who were at work in England, Scotland, and Ireland, 1557-1775
out of scope
yes (JS - 1 Sept. 2021)

--We don't have this though we have one for 1726-1775. A note in that record reads: "The fourth in a series of dictionaries covering the period from 1557 ; (1) A dictionary of printers and booksellers in England, Scotland and Ireland ... 1557-1640, edited by R. B. McKerrow. 1910. (2) 1641-1667, by H. R. Plomer. 1907. (3) 1668-1725, by H. R. Plomer. 1922."

Sounds like this is perhaps a later combined edition of much of this? There is a digitized version of 1668-1725 here: https://archive.org/details/dictionaryofprin00plomiala/page/n7/mode/2up --(Matt)

--We have it and Matt is correct: it's a reprint of the four individual works. But it's a dictionary, not a bibliography. For each entry of a printer or bookseller it may give one of the works they printed but certainly not all of them. It's telling that the four individual volumes are not in SCF. I'm happy to take this one from you but it sounds like it might not fit our scope --(Kate)

Wing, D.G. Short-title catalogue of books printed in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and British America, and of English books printed in other countries, 1641-1700 (revised edition, CD-ROM, 1996) included as previous citation
yes (js - 2 Sept. 2021)

We discussed this two years ago and decided against adding it (not least because no one has it anymore); it's given as a previous citation form under https://rbms.info/scf/?scf_entries=wing-d-g-short-title-catalogue-of-books-printed-in-england-scotland-ireland-wales-and-british-america-and-of-english-books-printed-in-other-countries-1641-1700-2nd-edition (js)

Cinti, D. Biblioteca galileiana already in the database yes (js - 29 Sept. 2021)
Ascarelli, F. Tipografia del '500 in Italia. out of scope yes (js - 10 Nov. 2021)

--reworking of author's previous La tipografia cinquecentina

--divides Italy into alphabetical regions, then towns, then "an account is given of the various printers and publishers, with full references to individual works about them."

--"essentially a list of Cinquecento printers arranged geographically."

--"Each entry comprises a brief assessment of the subject's activities, a list of devices used, and the terminal dates of activity"

Though clearly a standard reference work, out of scope.
